Projects
Here are a record of some of my own projects that I've done along the way.

THE ODDITORIUM
This was a big project for me. In February 2001, during my last year of college, I wrote, directed, and ring-mastered a full-length circus. We had a 45 person company, all students and faculty, with a 10-piece band. Trapeze artists, animal acts, sideshow, the works. All original music, written by me and a handful of other great composers. Really an incredible experience: I've never seen so many people work so selflessly. HOUSE OF ILL REPUTE
This was a show I put on at Club Passim in January 2005, and something that I'm hoping to make a regular habit of. A variety night of music, it had some great players: Bridget Matros, Jason Goss, Laura Cortese, Dan Fram and the Vagrants of Fate, Jingo Jango... Heres a clip from the finale act, the Whiskey Business Blues Band: .. more

HOT DOGS FOR JESUS
This was my version of a senior jazz recital at Oberlin. Another variety night of music, this show was almost three hours long, and featured 14 bands, including the Motown cover band that I used to lead, Soul Circus. Here's a clip from Tom Waits' "Jesus Gonne Be Here," with Jason Goss and the the Duggs Trio:.. more

BALLETS
Here are clips from 2 dance pieces that I wrote music for: first, for an Oberlin production called "Spring Back" featuring Chris Eldridge on guitar and Daniel Gale on fiddle (2001). And second, a clip of music I wrote and recorded for the Blackbird Dance Ensemble from Washington, DC (2003). Neither of these were actually ballets..... more

STABLEHORSE
This was a four-piece young all-star bluegrass band that I put together in January 2002. The band featured me on bass, Andy Hall on dobro and vocals, Chris Pandolfi on banjo, and Chris "Critter" Eldridge on guitar. We all met up for the first time on a Friday night, and made a record on Sunday morning. Great band - we toured around little in the summer, and played a few great festivals and college shows. The rest of the guys have all gone on to great gigs, living in Nashville, and playing together in a new iteration: the Nashville String Dusters. Here's an audio clip from us on our record: .. more
